Deer Camp

This year we camped with the Martin's and Corral's. There were a lot of kids and they had fun playing together. They played cops and robbers with the four wheelers, went through lots of bb's, played catch with hot coals, Garrett and Danton shot a bird and tried to gut it, they all had radios and walked around talking to each other, and they hunted together. Garrett hiked with Corbin and Cole last night and thought he was big stuff. Here they are playing power ball in the dark. The ball only ended up in the fire once, and Ashlyn got a bloody nose after getting hit in the face with the ball.

We got up early yesterday morning and went on a hike but we only seen a doe and fawn. Last night they hiked again and seen a couple of does. This morning Matt, Braden and Ashlyn got up early and went after these two deer Matt had seen during the spike elk hunt. Braden got the biggest one, a 27 inch four point, and Matt got the smaller four point. Matt said Ashlyn was so excited, she was jumping up and down and yelling. When they got down to Matt's he picked it up by the horns and then it jumped up and started running toward Ashlyn. Matt had to shoot it again so it didn't run her over. Braden gutted his and Ashlyn gutted Matt's, and then they started the long drag to the road. Me and Garrett went with Dave and Eddie and the boys to meet them and help drag. Braden is so excited about his deer and wants to get it mounted. He has a bet with his friends that the one that shoots the smallest deer has to buy the one with the biggest deer a slushy.
