Minersville Reservoir

We took the kids to the reservoir for the afternoon to fish. I took a chair and my book and relaxed in the warm sun while Matt and the kids fished and the kids caught crawdads.

This was my view from the damn...

 They didn't spend to much time fishing...

Braden caught the first crawdad. He loves to eat crawdads and sometimes when he goes to Greenville they catch a bunch and fry them up for dinner.

Ever since Matt went to Lake Powell Garrett has been wanting to go fishing on the boat so bad so Shaun brought his boat down to take Garrett fishing. Ashlyn had softball practice so we came home and left the boys there. Shaun took Ashlyn with them for a run down the lake before we left...

The Beaver Dam

or Damn Beaver!

Matt and I went for a ride tonight to check on the trailer and decided to ride up and see what they had done to the road. We rode up the big john's road to see if the gate was open and seen this beaver dam. It is there every year but this year it is HUGE.

 Matt was trying to dig it out to let some water out. It was packed tight with mud, rocks, logs, and sticks. He was having a hard time!

 I couldn't get a good picture of the road work but they are straightening the road a little. It is one lane for a little ways and tight in another spot. I think when we pull the trailer up we will have to go the other way.

Pancake Breakfast

The cub scouts had a pancake breakfast fundraiser this morning. Braden, Garrett and Grandpa Willden were there at 6:00 to start cooking bacon, eggs, sausage, and pancakes. Ash and I went about 7:00 to help and to have our breakfast. The cub scouts cooked all the food and did such a good job!

Last day of School

For the last day of school Braden and his friends decided they were going to dress up and ride Shane's bike to school. Braden is in the orange polyester suit and platform boots with the black afro wig and orange headband. I wish I would of got a picture of his outfit before he left for Shane's house this morning. We passed then on our way to school later and I stopped in the road to get this picture.

Harry Potter Day

Mrs. Bradshaw just finished reading Harry Potter to Garrett's class so today she had Harry Potter Day! They made wands and potions, planted terrariums, had flying lessons and quibich game among other things. I was in charge of flying lessons and the quibich game. We set up an obstacle course for the kids to fly their brooms through and then they played the quibich game. They all had a lot of fun!

Garrett kept saying today that he didn't want to leave school. He still wants Mrs. Bradshaw for his teacher! None of my kids have ever been so attached to a teacher.

Today was also the kids last ball games of the regular season. They both made all stars so we have games thru June. We will be traveling most weekends in June to watch Ash and Garrett play just plays in Beaver.

BASEBALL

Garrett is on the Southcreek Shell team this year and Matt is helping coach. Garrett has been the catcher and done an awesome job. He can be quite the hustler. He has also played 2nd and 3rd base, but catch is still his favorite. Today they started games at 9:00 and played until about 3:00. They had two games and won the second. It was the best game they've had all year! They were all hitting and did such a good job fielding. Baseball is my favorite sport and it's even better when I get to watch my kids play.

It's kinda hard to be the score keeper and take pictures at the same time! I have a hard time getting a picture and I didn't take very many.

Spring Art Show

These are the 3 paintings Braden had in the art show. The one he is holding he took 2nd place on! He does such a good job and loves art. I told him he should be an art teacher and he said art teachers are weird! I think he's going to try being the art sterling scholar when he's a senior.

 Mrs. Sorenson set a cow skull in the middle of the table for them to draw, I think he did awesome!

Fishing

Garrett has been wanting to go fishing every chance he gets. This was last weekend at the property with the McInelly's.

 This was this weekend while camping. We fished at the pond for a little while on Friday night and then went to Kent's Saturday morning and Little Res after lunch and a nap.

 Garrett was so mad that Matt kept catching fish.

Our Summer Home!

This might be the earliest we've ever had the trailer on the property. This is the second weekend in a row that we've camped and it's been so nice.

SOFTBALL

Is my favorite sport and I love watching this girl play! She's good and she knows it, which isn't always a good thing! Her favorite position to play is catch. She has also pitched and played shortstop. She loves the game and takes it very seriously.
