Are you ready for some football...

Jaren came over to play today. They were in the backyard playing football so Matt went back to throw some passes.
Ashlyn is quite the football player. She comes home from school every day with grass stains on her knees. Even on her white tights when she wears a skirt. She can out run just about anyone and even take down the boys.

Bow Hunt

We spent the weekend with the Willden's at bow camp.
Garrett spent most of the weekend shooting his bow. He packed it when he went hiking with Matt Saturday morning and really wanted to shoot something. Matt got the biggest kick out of him sneaking on everything.
Catching frogs/tadpoles- The rest of the time was spent riding 4-wheelers, playing games, eating, and hunting of course.

First Day of School

Today Braden became a Freshmen, Ashlyn a 6th grader, and Garrett a 2nd grader. They are growing waaay to fast.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

The book bags are packed, hair cut, curlers in, and clothes are picked out. All ready for the first day of school tomorrow. This summer went by waaayy to fast.
I took Garrett back to the Dr this morning. He was doing so much better and Dr Robinson still thinks it was a stomach virus that has ran it's course.
And today is my moms birthday. Happy Birthday Mom, I love you.

SICK...

While Matt had Garrett at the fair Saturday he started having stomach pains. He woke up twice in the night with pains and was ready to go to the emergency room. I gave him some peppermint tea and he didn't wake up again and it just hurt a little bit Sunday. Yesterday he didn't say anything about it hurting and then this morning he called me at work and wasn't feeling good again. I got him a doctors appt. and when I came to get him he was curled up in a ball crying because of the pain. It has been hurting right below his ribs, in the middle, but he hasn't thrown up and is eating and drinking fine. He won't breath right because it hurts to breath, and he has had a fever. Dr. Robinson felt his stomach and checked his breathing, ears, nose, and throat and couldn't find anything. He thinks it is just a stomach virus but wants to see him again in the morning. I hope he gets feeling better and it doesn't end up being something worse.

Tarzan, Shopping, Demolition Derby...

My mom took all the girls to Tuacahn Friday night to see Tarzan. This is the third year in a row she has taken us. The play was really good and we all had fun.
Thanks Mom.
I met Matt at the fair when I got home to watch the demolition derby. Garrett wasn't feeling very good so we only stayed for a little bit of the Eric Dodge concert after. I did get to dance with Matt and Dustin.

Summer Vacation

The kids will be starting school next Thursday so I took this week off to spend some time with them. Wednesday we headed north. After driving around Provo for a half hour trying to find Costco so we could save money on our tickets to Seven Peaks, and eating lunch we headed to Cabelas. We can't go north without stopping at Cabelas. Next we went to Boondocks for a round of mini golf. Garrett even got a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. After a few arcade games we went in search of ice cream before going to Lynette's to spend the night.

Thursday morning we stopped at Saltair. The kids wanted to walk out to the Great Salt Lake. They played around in the water for a little bit and then there legs started hurting from all the salt.
We spent the rest of the day at Seven Peaks. The sunscreen wore off before we were done so we got a little sunburned, but we all had a really good time and slept really good last night.

Braden got a cow elk last Monday, the first day of his hunt. It's been in the cooler at the packing plant until today. It's cutting day. Everyone gets in on the cutting. Matt and Braden cut, I wash, me and Ash wrap, and Garrett tears tape and writes on the packages.

Saturday, August 7, 2010

This is the first Saturday I have had off in at least a month and to make it even better Matt was off also. We went and stayed in the trailer last night. We watched a movie and I got to sleep in while Matt went and checked trail cameras. It rained for a while this morning. I love to lay there and listen to the rain hitting the roof. After lunch we went with Matt to check another camera. Garrett was looking out for me while we hiked. He would hold a branch for me to walk by and say lady's first. He even told Matt that he needed to watch me. He packed Matt's elk call and kept stopping to bugle. He's getting pretty good. There was a little river by the camera that had these tiny Native fish in it. The kids were having fun catching them. Braden didn't get to go with us. He is with the young men and young women doing baptisms for the dead at the Oquirrh Mountain temple and going to Seven Peaks. We went to St. George Thursday to finish our school shopping. Braden has wanted to go to Red Lobster forever so we took him for his birthday. He wanted to try lobster tail so he got the ultimate feast, a big platter with fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, lobster tail, crab legs, and fries. He ate almost the whole thing and loved it.

Today is Braden's 14th birthday. It was just yesterday he was learning to walk and next year he will be learning to drive. Where does the time go. We had a little family party last night with Braden's favorite treat...Mike's brownies, and floats. I hope you had a good birthday, we love you.

Holy Hail

Some were the size of nickels and left welts... Look at the size of those splashes...gushing out of the rain gutter...At the beginning of the storm...It's still raining....They just can't resist....It was so cold they didn't stay in long. It rained/hailed for at least two hours and looked like a river running in front of the house. There is still a big hole from them digging the water pipe and it was overflowing. We went for a ride in the car and when we backed out of the driveway to the middle of the puddle it reached the bottom of the car. It was crazy.

My best side...

...hardly, but every time Matt gets his hands on a camera this is what I find.

Horses

Ashlyn has been asking for a horse every Christmas for as long as I can remember. She loves horses and jumps at every opportunity she has to go for a ride. When we were at Craig's doing the bank float one night she was out watching the horses and Craig came out and asked her if she wanted to ride. She helped saddle it up and was on her own, that's all she talked about for days. One year at the 24th of July races Karl Myers was raffling a horse. Ashlyn had some money from Matt's mom and dad and spent it all on tickets. She was the saddest little girl for a week when she didn't win. Matt is so allergic or I'm sure she would have one.
