Halloween

We started the night out at the ward trunk-or-treat then we went home and ate pizza and carved pumpkins. Braden didn't carve his pumpkin because he had already gone to a party at one of his friends. After carving pumpkins Ashlyn went trick-or-treating with Markelle and Garrett went with Jaren. Matt and I went and got a pop and visited with my mom and dad while we waited for the kids. They all had a good night and Ashlyn and Garrett got quite a bit of candy.

Brittany's Deer

I wasn't feeling very good this morning so we just went for a road hunt. We met up with Gary and Brittany and Matt spotted this deer from a long ways away. He wasn't sure it was a buck so we got closer to take a look. It was a little buck and it got up to move so they told us to shoot it. Brittany was a dang good shot and I didn't even find it in my scope. She is so funny. Her and Matt walked up to get it while me and Gary stayed below to watch it. When they got up to it it tried to get up so she shot it in the neck and hit the main artery. Blood was squirting straight out and you could hear Brittany yelling that is so cool. Matt gutted the deer and Brittany picked it up by the horns to drain the blood out.

After they got the deer loaded Ashlyn put the legs in her sleeves and started waving to Gary and saying hi. He looked up and seen what she was doing and started laughing. It did look even funnier in person.

Crazy Hair Day

It's drug week at school and today was crazy hair day. Looks pretty crazy to me...

Deer Camp 2011

This year at deer camp there were nine camp trailers and around 70 people, at one time or another. Our friend Adam Eakle with KSL Outdoors came to film deer camp for his show and he brought along his family. The kids all got along so good. They all played together, ages 3 to 20.

Matt likes to play with the mic and interview everyone.

What kind of camping is this. DISH Network and Sunday football.

The little girls were painting their fingernails and Eddie asked if he was next. They thought that was pretty funny. Jaden didn't think it was very funny and told Eddie he was going to tell his wife.

The kids rode 4-wheelers, played tag, shot guns, we had Tyler entertaining us with his guitar and singing, we hiked, laughed, talked, ate, and made good memories with good friends and family.

Today Ashlyn was set apart as the Beehive class president and Braden was set apart as the 2nd counselor in the Teachers Quorum. I am so proud.

Ashlyn's Elk

Ashlyn got her first elk today. It was a cow and it was huge. She got it in one shot and skinned it herself. She loves this kind of stuff...blood, guts, brains.

 One of the guys that was hunting with them wiped blood on her face to break her in. When she was done skinning hers she got him back good.

Man Camp

This week is the muzzleloader hunt. Matt always camps with his friends for this hunt. He took Garrett out to camp last night and before they went they stopped at my moms. He told her that he was going to Man's Camp. He had a blast. He got these pine hens and was so excited he wouldn't even sell them to LB.
