Kite flying day

Yesterday was kite flying day for the first graders. They started off singing a few songs and then we headed to the playground to fly the kites. It was so windy we couldn't even keep the kite in the air. A big gust would come up and the kite would nose dive. We had fun though.
Later we headed to ball games. First Garrett's where he did a great job and then to the last half of Ashlyns. She's quite the ball player.

MOHAWK

Tonight Matt cut Garrett's hair in a mohawk. I think he looks cute.
I got up at 5;30 this morning and went to excercise. I thought I better document it...it might not happen again.

BONFIRE

Yesterday Ash had another cheer competition, this time in Parowan. They got a Superior, which is the highest, and judges choice award for most team spirit. They are awesome. When we got home we headed to the Willden's for the annual christmas tree burn. The fire was big and hot and they ate lots of marshmellows. That afternoon was also Starlas baby shower. It was a busy Saturday.

Friday morning at the DI...

who would of thought that there would be a line of people waiting for the doors to open at the DI.

We stayed at Lynettes after the concert and before brunch Friday we went to check out the local DI. It was a little before ten when we got there and they weren't opened yet so we decided to wait a few minutes. It was pouring rain outside and we were in the car laughing at the line forming at the door. When it opened and we walked inside Matt says I don't think its a good sign when the cashiers are wearing blue gloves. He thinks I am nuts because I have been making him stop at the DI when we go anywhere. I am looking for a dresser, nightstand and cool, chunky frames. You never know what treasures your going to find.

Busy

It's been a busy week so far. Monday Braden was complaining his lungs were hurting so I called and got a dr appt. for Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning I got him up and he went in to use the bathroom. I was in my bedroom and heard a crash. I went into the bathroom and he had passed out and was laying in between the toilet and the cupboard. I took him to the the dr and he said his lungs were a little tight but not rattly so he thinks that is just allergies. He didn't think the passing out was anything to worry about, but he did have some blood work done. I hope there is nothing to it. I take him to my moms and go back to work. I hadn't been there for ten minutes when Ashlyn calls me to come and get her because she feels like she is going to throw up. I went and picked her up and she was really pale and threw up as soon as we got home. She only threw up once and no one else has got it so I will keep my fingers crossed. I have been busy doing vinyl and know today I am playing catch-up on the house.

Garrett has a hard time doing anything without his tongue hanging out. I keep telling him he is going to bite it off.

Ashlyn

Ashlyn took me outside about nine last night to show me her flips on the trampoline. Matt gave me an awesome camera for Christmas. I LOVE IT. I still don't know how to use everything on it but it is amazing. I couldn't even see her in the viewfinder when I was taking this picture.

SPRING CLEANING

I started my spring cleaning today. I really don't know the last time I did actual spring cleaning. I still have a couple things to finish in the living room but I got the walls, blinds, windows, and curtain all washed, and vaccumned under all the furniture. I still wasn't finishsed when Matt got home at noon. He walks in and says what have you been doing all day. Gee thanks. Even if he can't tell I can and it makes me feel so good. Hopefully I can get the rest of the house finished...

Grandma Willis

The other night Ashlyn was helping me make banana bread and I was greasing the pans. It reminded me of baking a cake with my grandma. I remember greasing the pan and asking her if I needed to do the sides. She said-would you want to climb up a greasy wall. Tonight while I was doing dishes I was reminded of her again. She always washed the dishes with a the sink half full of water. I remember talking about it once with my mom and Lynette and wondering why she did that. No one knew. I now do the same thing...my reason is that I lay the clean ones in the other side of the sink and don't want to rinse the bubbles on top of the clean ones. I love my grandma very much and think about her often. My birthday is the day before hers and I always thought that was so neat. She would call me every year when I was younger and tell me happy birthday. If we were there around my birthday she would always make a cake with fluffy frosting. She thought it was my favorite and I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise.

Braden's Turkey

Braden got his turkey yesterday. He was pretty excited. And Garrett finally lost his tooth.

Tired...

worn right out. He did get up at six yesterday morning to go hunting turkeys and then he played all day. Matt was in the shower last night and when he got out this is what he found -

Loose Tooth

Garrett is about to loose his 2nd tooth. He got hit in the mouth with the baseball today which helped it along a little. He asked me to pull it out tonight but after I failed a couple of times he said I'll just wait til dad gets home he's better. It's still there.
I took Ashlyn to the doctor this morning. She has a pretty bad ear infection. The boys didn't get any turkeys today.

Scouting for Turkeys

Looking for tracks-
Matt and Braden have a turkey hunt starting in the morning so for the last few nights we have been scouting. We seen a few, but they were just jakes. Good luck in the morning boys.

Thursdays with Matt

Thursdays my day off, no bank-no Timberline. Since Garrett started first grade this year the kids are all in school all day. Matt and I have been taking advantage of this and having Thursday lunch dates. Today we went to the Hunan for some chinese. Matt wouldn't let me take a picture inside and this one is horrible, but it's the best one. Then we came home and I finished my morning project, which I am pretty proud of. I love my Thursdays with Matt.Ashlyn has her first softball practice today. It's the first year I won't be her coach. I'm a little sad, but it will be nice to just watch. Garrett's first practice is tomorrow. He is playing machine pitch this year. It should be a fun ball season.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

We went for a ride to Puffer's Lake tonight to check out the snow. Matt and the kids got out at Puffers and hiked to the top of the snow to see the lake. It started snowing and they had a little snowball fight after Matt threw Braden down in the snow bank. It was a nice ride.

An Easter Tradition...

It has always been a tradition in my family to roll Easter eggs. When Matt and I were first married he thought this was the weirdest thing he had ever heard of. My kids love doing this and they always look forward to it. I am glad I have carried on that tradition.

Happy Easter

Well the Easter Bunny found us. Garrett found his basket right off the bat but it took Ashlyn and Braden a while. Garrett's was hidden on top of the entertainment center, Braden's was in the oven, and Ashlyn's was in the dryer. They each got roller blades and their baskets filled with candy. After a few test runs around the living room and driveway they headed to show Grandma and Grandpa Willden and to the creamery to skate. After skating for a while we went to Grandma and Grandpa McInelly's to have an easter egg hunt with the cousins. To end the day we went with G and G Willden to Blackrock for a picnic. We went on a hike to see some neat Indian writings and then the kids went on a hunt for the perfect hill to roll eggs.

Easter Egg Hunt

I had big plans today. The kids were out of school and I was off work, we were going to clean, clean, clean. It didn't happen. We went to the Easter egg hunt which ended up in the high school because of the five inches of snow we got last night. We did have fun. I got to hold Miss Allie while Shondel helped Kade. Ashlyn was in the other room and there was so many kids I didn't get up to take pictures. Then we came home and I had a much needed nap. It's been kind of a crazy week.
